Today’s wedding photography comes in many different variations and styles and flavors. The common styles in wedding photography today are traditional and journalistic also known as documentary. The most common style is a hybrid approach a mixture of traditional and journalistic, this is the approach Christos takes in his wedding coverage. But another term that is brought forward is fine art photography. What exactly is fine art photography or fine art photography and video for that matter. After all art is a subjective matter and everyone’s interpretation of art will vary.
How I envision fine art photography and video in Long Island today is all about capturing moments, being different and photographing each wedding with a theme in mind. I believe that fine art wedding photography in New York today needs an open mind as being the photographer, one should not only go in to get the safe everyday shots but going above ones expectations and trying something new at each wedding. That I believe is fine art photography and video today, going away from the same routine and providing each client with unique wedding images. This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Effie and Vasilis wonderful Long Island wedding. The church ceremony was held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church in Hicksville and the reception at the beautiful Crest Hollow Country Club.
